Poultry Disease Scientist
Tenure Track Faculty, Department of Pathobiology, College of Veterinary
Medicine, Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. A tenure-track (Assistant,
Associate, or Full Professor) position is available for a poultry disease
scientist.
The primary duties are research, teaching and outreach pertaining
to poultry diseases. The research component involves the development of an
extramurally competitive program and interaction with relevant existing
research programs. Teaching responsibilities encompass team-taught graduate
courses, supervision of graduate student research, and diseases of poultry
and other avian species in the professional curriculum contingent upon
qualifications. Outreach activities such as consultations with commercial
poultry producers or allied industries are encouraged. Essential
qualifications are the PhD degree or equivalent and evidence of recent
accomplishments in poultry disease research. The DVM degree or equivalent,
board certification in pathology, poultry medicine, or microbiology; and
consultative experience with commercial poultry producers or allied
industries in a diagnostic or corporate setting are preferred. Salary is
negotiable and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position
is available October 1, 2001. Review of applications will begin August 15,
